This movie is loosely based around a script filled with murdered blondes in L.A. It’s tongue-in-cheek take on Los Angeles, and the film world is pretty hilarious and accurate. The packed-in screening audience, mostly made up of "industry" people, laughed at all the right references the clever director/co-star Todd Berger—littered throughout. Berger, a.k.a. “Wallace Cotten” (you know, the pretentious indie-filmmaker?), used several different “found footage”-style cameras to craft an almost masterpiece of independent cinema.

Berger mentioned during the Q&A that 40 minutes of film had to be cut. Fortunately for him, this explained away issues of minor narrative inconsistencies some audiences might find confusing. Scenester had some of the better performances from a cast seen at Slamdance in 2010 and is a solid audience favorite. This is great for upcoming awards deserved by one of the more creatively crafted films anyone has made in some time.
