[Still of Ana Stojanovska in Faith, Love & Whiskey]

Faith, Love & Whiskey
Slamdance Film Festival
Director: Kristina Nikolova

Neli (Ana Stojanovska) left Bulgaria to go to America, where she ended up getting engaged to Scott (John Keabler), but when she returns to her home country to see her grandmother and her friends one last time, she must decide between the protection and financial security Scott can offer her and the crazy, alcohol-driven passion she finds in her longtime friend, Val (Valeri Yordanov). In her feature film directorial debut, Kristina Nikolova brings us one of the most visually striking and passionate stories of the Slamdance festival–Faith, Love & Whiskey was presented with the Kodak Vision Award for Best Cinematography. The music is fantastic, the acting is spot on and the way Nikolova captures the emotions of an intoxicated experience is bold and compelling to say the least. Definitely one to see, but you might want to steer clear of this one if you have any issues with alcoholism—there’s kinda a lot of that here.
