I'm sure that FIDLAR—an acronym for Fuck It Dog, Life’s A Risk—will be one of Vice Magazine’s darlings in no time. This L.A. based band seems to have taken notes from Black Lips, because that’s exactly who their live performance reminded me of. Their energy was frenetic and contagious. One of their lead singers bounced around the stage throughout the performance, momentarily popping on to their ginger-haired drummer’s kit and also playing his guitar on his back while laying on the stage. The music FIDLAR plays certainly isn’t anything new, but they’re doing it damn well. My favorite moment of the night came when the group played “No Waves,” a song about rehab, from their recently released 7”.
