How did you hear about the band?
I knew Mikal Cronin had played with Ty Segall and recently inked a deal with Merge Records, but I had yet to check out his music. When I saw he was playing SXSW, I added him to my list.

What was the crowd's reaction?
The crowd drank up Mikal Cronin like he was the last beer of the night. Lots of NPR types and 40-something industry people crowed the front of the stage, acting like they were in college again. For good reason too—Cronin had an incredible band backing him, many of whom have also toured and played with Ty Segall.

Give a musical equation that describes the band’s sound.
Elliot Smith +  Wavves - Stephen Pope x Buffalo Springfield

If you were in this band, what would you play?

If I was in this band I'd want to be Cronin's drummer, Emily Rose Epstein. She's totally hot, incredibly talented and a general badass. I've seen her play a few times in various projects and she's always a heavy, hard hitter that never misses a beat. She's also known for playing barefoot.

If you could see this band perform with any other musical group, who would it be?
I'd love to see Mikal Cronin perform in his hometown of San Francisco alongside friends and side-projects. Bands like White Fence, Toad, Fuzz, Sic Alps, etc.
