Anti-Flag = Dead Kennedys + Against Me!’s Searching for a Former Clarity + Bad Religion

“You gotta die, gotta die, gotta die for your government? Die for your country? That’s shit!” I’ve been an A-F fanboy ever since those lyrics pierced through my ears and latched onto my brain forever. For 20 years, these angry, young and poor boys from Pittsburgh, Pa. have become a staple in the political punk rock movement throughout the ’90s and into the 21st Century, and we are blessed with their best moments accumulated on one compact disc, including “Fuck Police Brutality,” “Turncoat,” “A New Kind of Army,” “1 Trillion Dollar$” and “The Press Corpse.” Not only do I get to blast these tracks like I did some odd years ago, but I get to follow along with the track-by-track liner notes that give even more depth to the songs. Needless to say, neither the songs nor band have lost their edge the past 20 years.
