Haunted Heads = Superchunk + Blink 182

Haunted Heads sound a lot like popular indie rock from the ’90s. Power pop harmonies are used frequently, and a little fuzz is thrown in to give the music some edge. There’s a juxtaposition of confidence and vulnerability to this type of indie rock that doesn’t sit well with me. The guitars can sound really jagged, and the vocals are being screamed, but they still sound whiny and weak. It makes me think of a little brother threatening his big brother with the promise that one day he won’t be pushed around so easy. I was too busy listening to radio rap when this type of music was popular, but if indie rock was your thing in high school, then this might bring back some memories. –Justin Gallegos
