M is We = Reggie and the Full Effect + Trust

I can’t lie—this is probably the weirdest thing I’ve listened to, and I don’t mean it in a good way. M Is We  starts out with “Something’s Burning,” which sounds like a punky, noise rock song. This quickly gives way to gloomy electronic soundscapes with incomprehensibly echoic vocals. “Re-Knew” sounds like it belongs as the backdrop to a 16-bit arcade game, which is rhythmically satisfying, but drones on too long. The entire album sounds confused and misguided because there is no commonality between the songs. I’m not sure if Me is We is musically diverse or just disjointed, but I’m leaning towards the latter. –Ali Shimkus
