Marrow = Silversun Pickups + The Tontons x Rubblebucket

Whimsical, yet powerful, Marrow captures the spirit of indie rock, and turns it on its head by adding noisy guitars and Macie Stewart’s shrill, wild vocals. Comprised of three former members of Kids These Days, Marrow remove the hip-hop and opt for a heavier, garage rock approach, although every so often we get a more poppy, radio-friendly track. While the whole album is solid, “Mother of Maladies,” “Darling Divine” and “Paulson” are definitely the standout tracks. Gold standard level: Reached and surpassed. –Allison Shephard
