SLUG Magazine and GenR are giving away tickets to the Journey to the Wasatch fundraising event.
Journey to the Wasatch, GenR: SLC’s annual fundraising event, celebrates the International Rescue Committee’s (IRC) work in Salt Lake City and the journey hundreds of brave refugees undergo every year to create a home in Utah. As a guest, you will enjoy a live auction and take your own journey from overseas to Salt Lake City through interactive challenges.
Attendees will engage in activities symbolizing the refugee journey from overseas to Salt Lake City. By attending, you are helping to reassure refugee families in our community that they are welcome, safe from harm and free to make Salt Lake City their new home. You are being a force for change. At this exciting event, you will also have the opportunity to network with your fellow young humanitarians, learn more about the IRC’s work and enjoy delicious food catered by Spice Kitchen Incubator. Journey to the Wasatch takes place Wednesday, April 19, 2017, from 6:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at the Falls Event Center at Trolley Square (580 S 600 E).
GenR, short for Generation Rescue, is a group of young and influential humanitarians who have joined forces with the International Rescue Committee to help people survive conflict and disaster and rebuild their lives. Inspired, informed and influential, GenR engages their communities in support of the IRC through a range of advocacy, educational, networking and fundraising activities.
