SLUG Magazine is proud to announce the 5th Annual SLUG Cat in conjunction with the release of the May Bike Issue, out Friday, May 5, 2017. A scavenger hunt‑style bicycle race made popular by bike messengers in places like New York and San Francisco, alleycats are a major part of summer for Salt Lake City’s bike community, and the first four SLUG Cat events proved a huge success for all involved. Using copies of SLUG’s Bike Issue as a manifest, cyclists of all types will race throughout the streets, using skill, speed, and a little bit of luck to win big prizes at the 5th Annual SLUG Cat.
The SLUG Cat will once again take cyclists on a wild ride through the streets of Downtown Salt Lake, where their knowledge of the city and their ability to perform tasks at a variety of stops will decide the reigning champions. This alleycat will cater to all types and skill levels of cyclists: die-hard commuters, summer cruisers, fixie heroes, tandem lovers—everyone’s invited to compete or to just have a good time.
Registration opens at 4 p.m. at The Gateway Fountain
400 W 100 S, Salt Lake City, UT 84101
Race starts at 5 p.m.
Awards and after party at 7 p.m. at The Gateway Fountain
