Job Title: Event Production Assistant
SLUG Mag is looking for Brewstillery Production Assistants who will work as a team to set up and tear down SLUG Mag’s Brewstillery. The Production Assistant will also have a great chance to work with a supportive team of individuals who allow SLUG Mag to create a unique festival for our community and interact with wonderful volunteers.
This is a contract, Brewstillery-specific position with a commitment of working Brewstillery in Salt Lake and Ogden, with additional preparation shifts in the weeks prior to the event. The Production Assistant is required to be onsite for the duration of Brewstillery, so working long hours in potentially extreme heat are factors to consider and keep in mind when applying for this position.
-Must have previous event production experience
-Must be 21 years of age or older
-Previous experience working in extreme temperatures and/or inclement weather
-Exceptional organizational skills and self-discipline
-Desire to be involved in producing a fun and safe experience for exhibitors and patrons alike
-Honesty and ability to accept responsibility when mistakes are made
-Knows how to spell “team player” without an “I” or “me”
-Enthusiasm for collaborating or creating a project with complete execution, including refinement
-Ability to perform under stress; stress management skills
-Ability to manage crowds
-Must be friendly and attentive
-Must be able to lift and carry 25-50 lbs and do hands-on, physical work
-Must be able to stand on their feet for upwards of 12 hours a day
-Must be able to endure summer temperatures of 90 degrees and above
-Must attend all staff planning meetings and trainings
-Must be able to commit to working the event dates
-Ability to work in-house at our offices, 5-8 hours per week for the 2 weeks leading up to the event
-Must have reliable transportation, with willingness to use for Brewstillery-related tasks
