Transformers: Beast Machines The Complete Series
Shout Factory
Street: 09.02.14
Growing up, there were two Transformers series being produced (this is of course, after the ‘80s cartoon). One was good, and one was bad. Beast Machines, the title in question, was most definitely the good one. While prehistoric robots find themselves transformed into animals fighting the Decepticons, there is no limit to what early ‘90s 3D animation can do. By today’s standards it is absolutely terrible, but this complete series is worth the walk down memory lane. Remember that this is meant to be a children’s show that can still be enjoyed by adults in the geek category. It is by no means perfect, but the voice-acting and unique set of characters make for a fun-filled ride through a different take of the Transformers Universe. This isn’t for purists, it’s more for those who want a good time with a different spin and would make a great holiday gift. –Thomas Winkley
