A Hug Away Panel Discussion

This panel discussion, organized around Lilly Agar’s Projects Gallery exhibition A Hug Away, will hold space to share the perspective of professionals in Salt Lake County that work on a daily basis to prevent suicide, provide treatments, and/or guide individuals (and/or relatives, institutions or other civilians) who identify as LGBTQ+.

The panel is designed to focus on three factors; education, overall wellness, and advocacy & community organization that can promote the desired quality of life for all Utah residents. These factors are covered through the background and experience of each panelist.

Panelists:

José V. Borjon López C. (he/him): Head Consul of Mexico for Utah and western Wyoming

Ariel Lee Malan, M.H.A. (she/they): Program Manager for the University of Utah Transgender Health Program and co-founder of Utah Rainbow Hikers

Salvador Oregón-Torres (he/him): Community Work Study & SLCC Serves Coordinator

Patricia Aguayo: M.D., M.P.H. Assistant Professor of Psychiatry & Medical Director Neurobehavior HOME Program at Huntsman Mental Health Institute

Olivia Jaramilla (she/her): Director of Public Outreach—Diversity & Inclusion Trainer
