Your Life and the Lunation Cycle: Eight Phases of Transformation
The Moon’s 28-day journey from the new Moon to the new Moon, also known as “the lunation cycle,” symbolizes the transformative growth of all living things—birth, growth, death, and rebirth. In astrology, this cycle, determined by the relationship between the Sun and the Moon, can be divided into eight phases, each with qualities and characteristics that symbolize where one is in their journey. Each phase represents a step in the cyclical process of life.
In this interactive workshop, we’ll explore the astrological meanings of the Moon and the eight-phase lunation cycle together. You will receive a copy of your birth chart, discover the phase of the Moon under which you were born, what it says about your life and personality, and how to work with the phases of the Moon throughout its monthly cycle. If time allows, we will also discuss the ‘progressed lunation cycle,’ a timing technique in astrology that divides one’s life into three-and-a-half to four chapters, each symbolizing a phase or season.

Brian Forman is an astrologer based in Salt Lake City, Utah. Since 2021, Brian has completed training programs with astrologers such as Kelly Surtees, Demetra George, and Chris Brennan. He recently received his Practitioner’s Level Horary Certificate through the School of Traditional Astrology (STA) and is currently in their Diploma Program. With over a decade of experience in therapeutic and wellness settings, Brian is committed to leveraging the healing potential of astrology to support others in gaining clarity and self-acceptance as they navigate their lives. In consultations, he aims to help people connect with their authentic purpose. His love for the desert sky inspired him to deepen his studies in astrology, and he believes the cosmos reminds us that we are part of a larger whole; like the rhythms of the natural world, our lives have seasons, cycles, and phases.
