EVERYTHING WILL BE OKAY with: Municipal Ballet & The Boys Ranch
September 19 @ 6:30 PM$13
Municipal Ballet Co. and The Boys Ranch are teaming up to present “Everything Will Be Okay”, a short, fun, outdoor and socially distanced surf-rock ballet.
Saturday, September 19th in the parking lot behind Urban Lounge in Salt Lake City.
In order to keep our audiences as safe as possible, we will have two shows, one at 7:00pm and one at 9:00pm, with limited tickets available and distanced seating. Masks are required. There will be drink service on the patio, and all audience members must be 21 or over.
Municipal Ballet Co. was founded in 2012 by Sarah Longoria, and it has been a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization since 2016. The company’s mission is to promote a compassionate, adventurous, and collaborative approach to developing the art of ballet, with the intention of sharing it generously with all people. They have created ballets with local bands including Pixie & The Partygrass Boys, Color Animal, and Holy Water Buffalo, which take place in a variety of venues in Salt Lake County, including the historic McCune Mansion, the Storm Mountain Amphitheater, and Fisher Brewing Company.
The Boys Ranch was started initially as a solo project by leader Denney Fuller around 2015. Since then it has grown into a full-fledged 6-piece Rock ‘n’ Roll ensemble, including members Ian Francis, Conor Flynn, Sam Dickens, Joey Pedersen, & Wren Kennedy. The Boys Ranch have twisted & shouted their way around the Salty Utah Desert playing summer festivals in & around Utah, hitting the UT Arts Fest, Craft Lake City, Treefort Music Fest, & have even been the house band for NPR’s “Science Friday”. The sound of The Boys Ranch is a healthy blend of 1960’s, touching garage, surf, & early Rock & Roll. Think surf-rock with Mod sensibilities! Keep an eye out for their debut full-length LP due out this fall on ISRNR Records ((International Society of Rock ‘n’ Roll)).
“Everything Will Be OK” will feature poster art & design by SLC’s own mid-century aficionado Robin Banks, AKA @ramenbanks. This 35-minute show will feature everyone’s favorite Boys Ranch tunes, with Municipal Ballet Co. accompanying five songs, and just a little bit of audience participation. It’ll be a fun-filled night!
