13TH ANNUAL ‘BUNNY HOP’ EASTER CHARITY DANCE PARTY, SUNDAY APRIL 9 TO BENEFIT ENCIRCLE & GENDERBANDS

On Sunday, April 9 the Garage on Beck Street will host Mr. Jesse Walker’s 13th Annual ‘Bunny Hop,’ presented by SLUG Magazine. This beloved Easter Sunday celebration features an all-day buffet, prizes, and award-winning local DJs playing vinyl records from 11 AM to sunset. Guests can also hunt for eggs, enjoy surprise guest artists and an appearance by the real Easter Bunny.

Funds raised at the Bunny Hop will benefit Encircle and Genderbands.

Encircle is a local non-profit that operates community resource centers for LGBTQ+ youth, young adults, and their families. Encircle’s mission is to “bring families and the community together to enable our LGBTQ+ youth to thrive.”

Genderbands is an international non-profit with a Utah chapter that serves the transgender, gender non-conforming, and other gender-diverse communities by helping them pay for transition-related costs. They also organize the annual Utah Transgender Pride Festival which celebrates, centers, and brings visibility to our amazingly diverse transgender community.

The day-long ‘hop’, attracts a cross-section of attendees ranging in age and identity with a tradition of community engagement. Attendees can release a healthy dose of spring fever while making a positive social impact.

Event Hours: 11:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M.

Food: Lunch/Dinner buffet opens at 12 PM

Donation: $25.00 per person at the door (First come, first serve)

A portion of the proceeds go to the program, therapy, and operations of Encircle homes operating in Utah

About the Egg Hunt and Prizes:

Hundreds of eggs that can be found throughout the day are stuffed with candy and prizes.

Wait, No Tickets?

We are not ticketing this year’s event because the Garage did not reach capacity until late afternoon last year. This also allows us to speed up entry as well as raise more money for Encircle. We know that makes planning a little harder. Do not be discouraged! Everyone who makes a concerted effort should be able to attend – if they come prepared with a little patience, some sunscreen, layers, and a hat. Check the weather.

Also, consider avoiding the mid-day rush (around 2-4 pm). With your help, we can make waiting in line a pleasant experience. Thank you for sticking with us, and sticking it out.
