Did you know that time spent in nature can improve both your mental and physical health? On behalf of Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, CONNECT and Swaner are partnering to host a guided mindfulness meander on the Swaner Preserve.

Research has shown that mindfulness and time in nature enhance mental clarity, creativity, focus, and attention to detail in addition to reducing stress and stress-related illness. During this challenging time for our community, mindfulness can play a critical role—allowing us to embrace the healing power of nature. During the meander, we’ll take an easy 45-minute walk on the Preserve, engage in nature with a Swaner Naturalist, and participate in mindfulness activities with Rebecca Brenner, president and co-founder of Mindful. Summit County. After the walk, we’ll take some time to connect and mingle over light snacks in the EcoCenter.

Rebecca Brenner, MA, is an author and mindfulness meditation teacher, speaker, and practitioner. She is the president and co-founder of Mindful. Summit County – a nonprofit focused on moving Mindfulness past self-care, into community care.

This event is presented in partnership with CONNECT.
