September Art Stroll

September 6 @ 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM

Welcome to September 6th Art Stroll 2019! We will be open for the Art Stroll from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

Our Featured Artist this Month:
Mike Hurst from Hurst’s Handblown Glass is our featured artist. Mike is an Ogden, Utah based lampworker, who specializes in unique pendants, jewelry, marbles and more. He began working with glass in January of 1994. Since that time he has passionately studied and practiced the art, always striving to perfect his techniques and learn something new. In addition to lampworking, Mike has experience with glass fusing, glass etching and neon sign making.

Mike’s work is inspired by nature’s beauty, pop culture, the strange and macabre. Halloween is his favorite holiday, which is noticeable in his work. Hurst’s evil eye jewelry has become some of his most popular items and his signature pieces.

Mike has been featured in Glass Line magazine, LAMMAGA magazine (Japan) and numerous local publications. Mike will be set up outside in front of the store doing glassblowing demonstrations and you can find his wonderful items too.

Guest Artist:
We are beyond thrilled to have Jessica Douglas as our guest artist. She was born in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. She started attending an art school at age six and has been hooked ever since! She moved to Utah 22 years ago and has been featured in many local galleries over the years, including several in 2019: Spellbound, Magic and Machine as well as her own personal gallery featured in The Underground. Her works have won several awards including several Best in Shows at CONduit and Westercon. Jessica specializes in colorful, fantastical art, including dragons, fairies and all manner of magical and whimsical creatures. Find her and her incredible art in Classroom B.

Christina Graff Charbonneau from Crema will be demonstrating how she creates her incredible felted clothes. She will be in the back of the store by her fabulous clothing creations.

Joe Eilander from The Shark Shack will be doing woodburing deomonstrations. You won’t want to miss seeing this talented guy in action! Come see what he is working on now. He will be by the register.

Bernadene Whitten from Our Earthly Treasures will be creating bead embroidery. She will be using some vintage Sara Coventry pieces to make some earrings. Find her out in front of the store.
