Get Up High: The Discrete Peak Series

Après-racing (the social activities that follow a day of racing) is an extremely important aspect of these races, and as such, participants will be greeted with a frosty libation at the conclusion of each stop. There is a DJ onsite at the start/finish area (located in front of the base lodge at each event) all day long to insure that the party is always in full swing, and as each competitor finishes, the party only gets better. “Beer tastes at least 10 times better after a Peak Series contest,” says Carr on the importance of completing something worth celebrating before you celebrate.

It’s also worth mentioning that these events will be entirely powered by the sun, thanks to GoalZero, which has donated use of their solar panels for all electrical needs: Competitors can feel good about leaving only actual footprints on the mountains.

“You go up and bag a mountain—it’s just you and the mountain,” Car says, “whereas mud runs and all that, to me, are just gimmicky … It’s crazy to me that there isn’t anything out there like this series”.
