Let this be a lesson: Get to the spot before the skater. When a skater is ready to go for something, they aren’t going to wait around for a photographer to get there, especially when they have a video camera already on hand. This photo is the result of me taking too long to find a parking space, getting to the spot as the skater is already jumping down the rail, and rushing to get my camera up just in time to get a shot off as he lands the 18-stair nosegrind that he has been planning to do all week. And who wants to jump on an 18-stair again so that I can get the angle that I really wanted? Probably no one.
