Night Beats = Allah-Las + Thee Oh Sees + Temples

The ascension of psychedelic garage rock is upon us, with Night Beats’ third album Who Sold A Generation is taking yet another strong leap forward into that sticky, citric bloom. Guitar riffs that meander lazily this direction and then pop in that one lay nestled between a dramamined bass and a monomaniacal drummer, predestinating a march to the gates of the fathers of the sold generation in a sort of peaceful protest against and an active rally toward the loss and recovery of what was ours but never received. It’s heady; it’s consistent; it’s good rock n’ roll, and if there was ever a time to dip your toes into the technicolor pools of this burgeoning brand of music it’s here, it’s now, it’s Night Beats. –Brian Udall
