DEADREPLICANT = Flying Lotus + Nujabes

It is amazing to come across an EP that is so short, with only five tracks lasting a total play time of just over seven minutes, that can leave such a lasting impact. DEADREPLICANT show off serious talent in such a small amount of time. Standby has a very unique sound to it that is reminiscent to Logic’s Young Sinatra mixtapes. The standout track from this EP also happens to be its longest, “Lift Off_In Love.” Its mixture of soothing piano and light use of trumpet really speaks to the talent of DEADREPLICANT. The only complaint I have about Standby is that it isn’t longer, but what it lacks in length it makes up for in its masterful execution and sound. –Connor Brady
