MC Taylor and Scott Hirsch had a musical pedigree tracing back to punk rock-unit Ex-Ignota and the indie band from San Francisco The Court & Spark. With that band’s demise, they moved to North Carolina and Hiss Golden Messenger saw its inception in 2007. Fast-forward to last year, and their fifth album, Lateness of Dancers, announces their addition to indie-stalwart Merge Records.
