Still from OK, Good

OK, Good
Slamdance Film Festival

Director: Daniel Martinico

In his feature film directorial debut, Daniel Martinico brings us OK, Good, a film following the experiences of Los Angeles based actor Paul Kaplan (Hugo Armstrong). As he goes to auditions, trains with an acting workshop and goes about his daily life in LA, Paul finds himself in some frustrating situations. As those situations begin to happen more and more frequently, Paul slowly begins to lose his calm composure and spiral out of control. Collaboratively written by Martinico and Armstrong, OK, Good presents the brutality of life within Hollywood’s acting world. While there is some monotony and seeming repetition found in many of the scenes, this only elaborates on the main character’s internal, and external, struggles throughout the film. Armstrong is remarkable in his portrayal, and the raw emotion he presents on screen will have you wanting to jump out of your seat to join him by the end of movie. If you’ve ever auditioned for anything, this is definitely a film you need to see.
