This project uses contemporary dance forms to reimagine the overlapping impulses of transformation found in the literature and mythology of Pygmalion, Coppelia, and Der Sandmann. These shared narratives explore socially relevant themes across the allure of artificiality, the commodification of beauty, and the growing tension between mediated and face-to-face human interaction. Embracing imperfection as a core strength of human nature, the work celebrates vulnerability, emotional risk, and the messy, beautiful nature of being fully embodied and truly alive. The work invites audiences to reconsider what it means to connect, to be real, and to be seen in the flesh.
