AV Club, AT THE INTERSECTION OF MUSIC AND FILM AN 801 SALON EVENT AT WEST MAIN STUDIO
801 Salon, a local arts nonprofit, presents AV Club,showcasing the intersection of local Salt Lake City music and film. The show will take place on Saturday, March 14 at 7:00 pm, presented by 801 Salon at West Main Studio. 801 Salon produces pop-up art events around Salt Lake City, partnering with local businesses, and providing a platform for artists to showcase work.
801 Salon has awarded a guest curation to Makayla Hopkins, local filmmaker and musician, to program an evening of visuals and sound. The line up features music videos and live performances from a collection of local artists of color. The evening begins with a film screening and ends with a live concert.

Makayla Hopkins is a filmmaker and multidisciplinary artist from Salt Lake City, UT. With a deep appreciation for the local creative community and the many talented artists who make it up, Makayla strives to create spaces where art feels accessible and shared. This is reflected in her self-published zine, KIID, which explores the freedom of artistic expression in youth and creation without judgement. Her work is rooted in connection, curiosity, and the celebration of shared humanity.
801 Salon is a nonprofit organization dedicated to making art accessible to the community. They produce multidisciplinary pop-up art exhibits and performances around Salt Lake City, providing a platform for local artists to show their work.
