SLUG Cat 2021

Every year SLUG Mag hosts the SLUG Cat bike race to celebrate SLC’s vibrant bike community. Inspired by the scavenger hunt-style bicycle races made popular by bike messengers in places like New York and San Francisco, SLUG Cat has become an unparalleled event in the community and is a must for all local riders, whether you’ve been cycling for years or are still on training wheels.

On Saturday, May 29, SLC cyclists donned their masks and rallied together at Saturday Cycles to compete in the 9th Annual SLUG Cat Presented By Fat Tire!

Given only a manifest of clues and a copy of SLUG Mag’s 9th Annual Bike Issue, riders were off to solve riddles and and compete in challenges ranging from trivia questions at SLUG‘s GREENbike station to throwing tires at the Salt Lake City Bicycle Collective.
