2026 Wednesday Walk-Throughs: Emerson Elementary School Garden – FREE!
Join our educators this summer at gardens across the Salt Lake valley to observe other gardeners’ successes, challenges and delights, and to ask us about your own garden issues or projects.
In August, come learn about the power of school gardens at Emerson Elementary School garden, one of Salt Lake City School District’s longest running school garden programs. Experience an an outdoor classroom space, while creating fragrant playdough using herbs from the sensory touch and smell garden box. Enjoy kid-friendly snacks and see how art has been incorporated in the garden. Other highlights include a pollinator garden, fruit trees, a dig bed, and much more. Hear from the Emerson Garden Committee and our Youth and School Program team to learn about the possibilities in a school garden.
These informal garden walk-throughs are free and open to the public, but please RSVP by registering for this event. Then stop by anytime between 6:30-7:30pm. Light refreshments will be served!
