Scent is part of how we experience the world.
This workshop is an introduction to understanding and creating it.

Designed for both beginners and more advanced participants, this session meets you where you are. Whether you are discovering perfumery for the first time or looking to deepen your understanding, the process adapts to your level.

This is not a class built around pre-made fragrance oils.
You will work with raw materials used in perfumery.

It also makes a thoughtful and memorable gift. An experience that stays with you.

What to expect:
The session unfolds in three parts.

We begin with a guided introduction to scent. You will explore a selection of raw materials and learn how to approach them, describe them, and understand their role in a composition.

From there, we move into structure. You will learn how a perfume is built, how to think in accords, and how to begin shaping an idea.

The second part is dedicated to your own composition. You will create your perfume from scratch, with guidance throughout. We refine together, step by step, until you arrive at something that feels right to you.

The process is focused but open. Some moments feel quiet, almost meditative. Others naturally become more social, as the group shares the experience.

You will leave with:
– Your own custom perfume (30ml)
– Your formula and notes
– A new way of understanding and experiencing scent

Cost:
$195 per person (Includes all materials).

Duration:
Approximately 3 to 4 hours. You are welcome to stay a bit longer for discussion.

Location:
Create The Collective, 361 West 400 South, SLC.

Ages:
18+ (ounger participants may attend with an adult).

About the instructor:

Dimitri is a French perfumer based in Salt Lake City with over 20 years of experience creating scent. As the founder and creative nose behind HEXEH, an independent fragrance studio, he has explored perfumery through self-directed study, formal training, and years of hands-on practice.

His workshops reflect that same approach. No gatekeeping, just genuine immersion.
He believes that understanding scent is something anyone can develop, and focuses on guiding each participant through that discovery.

Preparation:
Avoid wearing fragrance on the day of the workshop. All material provided.
Arrive with a clear nose and an open mind.

Registration & Cancellation:
Spots are limited and must be reserved in advance.
Reservations are non-refundable, but you may transfer your seat to someone else.
