Public Town Hall for the 10 Democratic candidates for Congress in Utah’s CD-01
On Monday, March 9, 2026 from 6:30 – 8:45 p.m., the 71 Percent Coalition (website at: https://www.71percentcoalition.org/) and Black Lives Matter (Utah Chapter) (website at: https://blacklivesmatterutah.com/) will host a public Town Hall for the ten Democratic Party candidates for Congress from Utah’s new District 1. The event will be held at the Salt Lake City Public Library main downtown branch (210 East 400 South, SLC 84111) in the Auditorium.
Six of the ten Democratic congressional candidates have already confirmed that they will attend. All ten have been invited.
This is an opportunity for the public to hear directly from the candidates on major issues of public concern. The Town Hall will be conducted along the lines of a presidential debate, with questions gathered in advance from prospective audience members through a form on the website of the 71 Percent Coalition. Two moderators – one each from the 71 Percent Coalition and Black Lives Matter (Utah Chapter) – will guide the discussion.
Additional cosponsors include: Healthcare Workers for Palestine SLC, Green Wave, Local CWA 7765, Salt Lake Artists Against Genocide, the Salt Lake Community Bail Fund, Salt Lake Bakers for Palestine, ICE Out SLC, and the Church of Protest.
