Wild Raccoon = Thee Oh Sees + Rich Girlzz + Ty Segall

Wild Raccoon’s Mount Break is the French embodiment of everything that one could ever want from the popular surf–garage rock sound that now dominates the airwaves and germinates our minds. Here the listener will have no trouble picking up the distorted vocals, the fuzz heavy guitar and the overall up-tempo and profoundly jiving tunes that define an album of this style. Some numbers do offer a glimpse of diversity, like “True Love Will Find You In The End,” or the 11-minute “Fries N Chocolate,” which borders on the more psychedelic spectrum of rock n’ roll. So, to sum this up, if you like the garage rock that Burger Records is known for—and perhaps, more specifically, Thee Oh Sees—you may find this a worthwhile addition to your already massive tape collection. ¡Viva! –Nick Kuzmack
