Last Saturday was the 2nd Annual Jazz Jam up at Brighton, and if it was going to be anything like last year, I was excited to go. Get Lucky, the latest rave produced by V2 events, was a perfect example of the rave scene in Utah: great music, way too many people. The rave scene here has blown up in the past four years, and almost every V2 event at Saltair in the last two years has been bigger than the last. A tradition for many years, the Freeskiing World Tour has been coming to the majestic slopes of the ‘Bird and showcasing the skiing talents of riders from near and far. This year’s event happened to coincide with St. Patrick’s Day, and the crowds got mighty interesting to say the least. It was a David and Goliath battle Saturday April 10th at the Sandy City Expo center. An all ages pro/am skate contest blazed on for seven long hours. As local Utah rippers came out to compete for $4,000 in prize money. Local pros James Atkin and Adam Dyet showed up to show their support and rip it with everyone.
