Saemore blends the sounds of indie and alternative with the Western influences she was raised on. She resented Western music growing up, but as she got older, it became nostalgic and she began to resonate with it — pulling inspiration from artists like Noah Cyrus and Casey Musgraves. On this epsiode of SLUG Soundwaves, Saemore discusses how her latest album, Lucky Woman, was inspired by female empowerment and finding yourself after a breakup. She calls it “melancholy, because it has a lot of hope but also despair.”
