Braxtyn Birrell

With a heart for campy musicals and a mind for chasing the next big story, Editorial Coordinator Braxtyn Birrell has become an essential part to the SLUG team. Crafting stories at a young age, Birrell says the skill of storytelling kept her entertained as a child of divorce. Birrell first got a taste of the editorial lifestyle when she volunteered to be an editor for Utah Valley University’s literary magazine, soon climbing up the ranks as Editor-in-Chief. From there, she’s loved it ever since! Although the news world can be “political and depressing,” Birrell was excited to land a position focusing on the brighter side of news coverage. Birrell’s favorite part of SLUG has been our monthly, fashion-focused columns such as Bold & Beautiful and SLUG Style. However, it’s the connections she’s made with the community that she truly loves.
