Craft Lake City Contemporary: An Art Gallery Series by Craft Lake City and Artspace

Craft Lake City is excited to announce a new quarterly contemporary art gallery series in partnership with Artspace. The series, titled Craft Lake City Contemporary, will showcase rotating exhibitions of work by local artists, with each exhibition curated by a participating local artist.

“We’re excited to help create a new space for local artists and contemporary art through this partnership with Artspace,” says Angela H. Brown, founder and executive director of Craft Lake City. “Each quarterly exhibition will offer audiences a chance to discover new artists and experience work from Utah’s creative scene.”

The inaugural gallery exhibition, Rarely Named, was curated by Nancy E. Rivera and features the work of 10 local artists:

Aimee Odum
Wren Ross
Kamila Stice

“We’re excited to welcome Craft Lake City and this new exhibition series to Norbridge Court,” says Cindy Franke, Vice President at Artspace. “Bringing together local artists, curators and audiences is a great way to activate this new space and celebrate the depth and diversity of Utah’s contemporary art community.” The exhibition opened Wednesday, Sept. 2  in conjunction with the Norbridge Court grand opening and ribbon cutting. The opening ceremony featured local bites and a live performance by Bridget & Derek of The Gibson Girl Cabaret.

Following the opening of Rarely Named, Craft Lake City and Artspace will continue the quarterly exhibition series with three additional exhibitions curated by local artists Andrew Alba, Erik Linton and Derek Mellus. The next exhibition will open Nov. 20, 2026 and will be curated by Andrew Alba, followed by exhibitions curated by Erik Linton on March 19, 2027 and Derek Mellus on June 18, 2027.

Each exhibition will feature a new selection of local contemporary work, offering audiences opportunities to experience the varied perspectives and practices of Utah’s creative community throughout the year. Through its quarterly partnership with Artspace, Craft Lake City is expanding its commitment to supporting Utah artists and creating opportunities for artists to share their work with new audiences
