Let this be a lesson: Get to the spot before the skater. When a skater is ready to go for something, they aren’t going to wait around for a photographer to get there, especially when they have a video camera already on hand.
Parker Garrett: Bloody Feets
Recently, SLUG had a chance to catch up with up-and-coming Utah County skateboarder Parker Garrett outside of Utah County indoor skate park, Banzai. He is a Provo native who is not shy to think outside of the box and get his feet bloody every now and then, and is helping progress the Provo skate scene with his skill set. This 21-year-old has a relaxed style that you can’t help but watch.

Back in mid-March, two carloads of skaters from Arizona came to Utah to skate for a week. You may have seen them at Provo Park, or at the University of Utah, or jumping off your dumpster behind your BYU apartment complex.
SLUG Skate Photo Feature: Gabe Spotts
Gabe moved to St. George last fall to attend Dixie State, and he has been killing every spot he can find.
Chandler Seipert: Skate Whatever
Chandler Seipert is a breath of fresh air in the skate world we know today. He’s a natural on the board, and he has no inhibitions—only motivation to skate.

Kicked Out of Everywhere was a skate video title from Real Skateboards circa 1999. That phrase describes street skating pretty well.

Matt Bergmann had some unfinished business from his story a few months back. In mid-December, Bergmann called me up to shoot “this really long down rail.”

These photos are the result of three trips to the library, two (and a half) broken boards and a lot of skin and blood from Taylor Green’s back.

Isaiah has been around the Salt Lake skate scene for a long time. He won’t remember this, but I first saw him skate in person one night in 2003 … … read more
30 Years Of Ripping: An Interview With Benjamin Pellegrino
There is something sacred that lies within a local skate and snowboard shop. Benjamin Pellegrino is the co-owner of Milosport, one of the best and longest-standing shops in Utah. Started by Dimitrije Milovich (founder of Winterstick and namesake of Milo) and Duane Bush in 1984, Milosport has been serving the local skate and snowboard community along the Wasatch Front for 30 years. … read more
Matt Bergmann: The Bergler Does it All
Matt Bergmann absolutely kills it on a skateboard. I’ve seen Bergmann around for a couple of years now, and all I can say is that this dude fucking rips. He can—and will—skate anything. With his raw talent, loose style and I’ll-skate-whatever attitude, it’s no wonder Milosport gave Bergmann a spot on their team. … read more

While most people were heading down to the Red Lobster on this particular Friday night for some all-you-can-eat shrimp, Levi had other ideas. … read more
