Tour de Halloween 2026
Community
The Tour de Halloween 2026 was a success — despite the threat of rain, which cut our scooter ride short. We started over on 900 East and about 1600 South, where a madcap carpenter builds the best Halloween display every year. We have seen pirates and minions in past years, and this year featured a coven of witches with a spooky little shack in the driveway. After that, we found a house full of Deadpools and had to knock. Everyone opens the door on Halloween, right?
From there, it was a quick trip to Windsor Street, which always delivers front yard decorations and a taco truck. They close the street down and go to town on the Halloween decor. Next up was a party in one of the SkyHouse Apartments — a little pregame event before these Gen Z kids took their celebration downtown. With lots of drinks, a crazy card game called “IncoHEARent” and a camera-flash pop-pop-popping, their pregame made for a great start to the night.
The first wave of rain hit in the middle of that little party, but by the time we got back on the scooter, the streets were mostly dry. With the rain on hold, we rode up to 200 South on our way to Bar X and Beer Bar, but before we got there, we spotted a festive line of people outside Lake Effect. They were waiting to get in, and the fits were on fire! All manner of costumes lined up all the way to 200 West and around the corner. The queue was flanked by three Sonoran hot dog carts. What a scene!
Up at Bar X, lots of happy people celebrated birthdays and grabbed quick drinks. On the Beer Bar side, people played sooo many games in a lively space that served as a great party stop — complete with curbside corrals out on the street. On the way home, we cruised 700 East looking for a 2026 edition of the MASSIVE party we found in 2015. Search it up: “Tour de Halloween 2015” and scroll to the bottom. Massive! Alas, no luck, but Halloween on Saturday is always a treat.
