On Friday, Feb. 11, SLUG celebrated its 33rd anniversary and the release of Death By Salt VI at Urban Lounge.

SLUG’s 33rd Anniversary and Death By Salt Release Party

Anniversary Party

In case you missed the party of the month, SLUG photographer Colton Marsala captured SLUG’s 33rd Anniversary and Death By Salt VI Release Party held at Urban Lounge on Feb. 11. Four artists featured on Death By Salt VI played a live set and electrified the crowd with their talent.

Choice Coin started the party with a pop-punk vibe thanks to lead guitarist and vocalist Jared Montgomery. Bobo brought an electronic pop feel with her synths and velvety voice, and Jacob T. Skeen surprised the crowd with a live projection show and a mono band setup, jumping into the crowd at one point and playing alongside his garage-rock headbangers.

Finally, The Pho3nix Child brought one of their best performances to date with tracks that mixed rap, spoken-word poetry and a passion for self love and weed. Each set exemplified its genre, and the crowd matched the shift in energy each time as they swooned over local talent until nearly midnight. SLUG gives special thanks to Barnstock, who matched ticket sales and donated $7 for every tape sold for a total donation of $5000 toward the Mestizo Institute of Culture and Arts.

Special thanks to the sponsors of the event:
