Kacey Musgraves Brings Texas Charm to Salt Lake City @ Delta Center 10.15.26
Concert
Kacey Musgraves has always had a way of doing things on her own terms. Bringing her Middle of Nowhere tour to Salt Lake City’s Delta Center, the Texas singer-songwriter mixed heartfelt country music, a little humor and plenty of personality into a performance that never felt tied to one particular style.
The setlist offered a mix of familiar favorites and newer material. “Merry Go ‘Round” and the infectious “High Horse” showed two different sides of Musgraves, while “Butterflies” brought a gentler touch to the evening. “Mexico Honey” added a playful Western flavor, fitting nicely alongside the traditional country influences of her latest album.
The stage production complemented the music without overwhelming it. Warm golden tones gave way to deep blues, reds and vibrant purples, creating a constantly changing backdrop. At times, the show felt like a colorful celebration; at others it was simply Musgraves and her music holding everyone’s attention.
One of the evening’s most memorable moments came during “Slow Burn.” Small flames lined the stage as hands swayed back and forth throughout the crowd. It was a beautiful, understated moment, and a reminder that sometimes the simplest parts of a concert leave the biggest impression.
“Follow Your Arrow” brought the independent spirit that has defined much of Musgraves’ career back into focus. Whether leaning into her country roots or taking the music somewhere unexpected, she seems most comfortable doing exactly what she wants.
And that’s what makes watching her so enjoyable.
