Treasure Myth’s Dextrose is a tightly constructed electronic journey built from layered textures, live experimentation and a meticulous sonic detail. Produced by Trevor Smith using synthesizers, loopers, sequencers and a DIY foot controller, the album feels both hands-on and carefully engineered, making it distinctly human. 

“Mike Marcum, Isn’t It About Time?” serves as the perfect introduction to Treasure Myth’s sound, bringing listeners into the album with a slow groove and undeniable atmosphere. The next track, “Car Crash, Radio’s Fault,” pairs a steady, driving beat with a distinctive chiptune sound that gives the song a nostalgic yet futuristic energy. It’s the kind of track that sticks with you while still leaving room for repeat listens.

“Noventa” takes on a cinematic quality, feeling like it could soundtrack the opening scene of a show centered around your new favorite comic book character. Its dramatic drop around the one-minute mark creates a sense of anticipation that pulls the listener deeper into the album’s world. Closing track “City Set on a Shill” embraces an ‘80s synthwave influence, slowly building into a fitting finale that ties the album together.

Treasure Myth’s greatest strength is its ability to create a fully realized atmosphere without relying on conventional song structures. Dextrose is an album that asks listeners to pay attention — to the small sounds, subtle shifts and layers hidden beneath the surface.
