“Most of what I do at SLUG recently has been calendar stuff,” says Brady. “So, putting up the events that end up on the Daily Calendar. When I first started, it was mostly like copy editing and working with the actual articles and things. But later it became organizing, because that’s what I tend to be better at, putting everything into organized little things. So I do like the spreadsheets, calendar stuff, organizing random things. Putting things together.”
Brady writes film reviews for SLUG Magazine. Her favorite genre is horror. “I like the broadness of it,” says Brady. “So, there are the cliches of horror, but even those tend to branch out into so many other different directions. Whereas it feels a lot of genres get stuck into this is what you do, like a romance is my least favorite. And most of it is either gonna be, we’re angsty and we died, or we’re happy and we didn’t die. It’s just about people having coffee. There’s nothing really exciting for me in that.”
“I play video games with my friends, we play Minecraft, Don’t Starve Together and Stardew Valley the most,” says Brady. “That is like, the complete opposite spectrum. It’s like the sweet wholesome farming games, or it’s murder games.”
“Recently, I’ve been playing through the Resident Evil series, still on the first one. I remember it from my childhood,” says Brady. “I remember it not being as scary as it is now, but it might be just that the graphics are better now. And I play a lot of Dead by Daylight, because I have a friend who’s very good at that game and can carry all of us, so we level up faster.” Photo: @clancycoop
“If I see something and I think it’s cute, I get it,” says Brady. “I don’t do the forward thinking thing, I don’t look at a shirt and go, oh that would look good with this thing. I just go, oh it has cats on it, okay, and then I buy it. And then sometimes that works out, and sometimes it doesn’t. My aesthetic can be summed up in skulls and cats. If it has either of those things on it, I’m gonna get it.” Photo: @clancycoop
“My ankles have always been really easy to break, but then in the past couple of years, everything just sort of started not working one by one,” says Brady. “We don’t know what that’s all about, but that is part of why I wear skirts so often and not pants, because it’s easier to get a brace on over tights than jeans.” Photo: @clancycoop
