BMX Photo Feature: Brady Tweedy
There were a lot of factors keeping us from getting this photo. We spent the early afternoon dodging the rain, almost resigning ourselves to an indoor park infested with scoot rats. Right before we met up to shoot, one of Brady’s friends took it on a kinked rail and chipped his tooth and broke his back. After taking that dude to go get checked out, Brady came back out ready to go, only to get postponed again by more rain, a family emergency and the “Local Neighborhood Do-Gooder,” who happened to walk by and tell us that Brady’s (plastic) pegs were causing destruction of private property to this ever-so-fragile (metal) rail. … read more

As the snow starts to melt and the season winds down, Brighton Resort always ends up getting extra wild for its closing weekend. DJ Velvet was on the ones and twos, spinning a mix of todays hits along with a sick collection of ‘80s classics. April Fool’s Xanadu: Sirens of Steel vs. Daughters of Anarchy...
On Saturday, April 5, the derby warehouse known as the Hive drew in crowds better than a real honey hive draws in bumblebees. The event, christened “April Fool’s Xanadu,” was an excellent bout. According to the dictionary, a Xanadu is a word “used to convey an impression of a place as almost unattainably luxurious or beautiful.” And beautiful is exactly how I would describe the incredible skating of the Sirens of Steel and the utter ballsy attitude of the Daughters of Anarchy. … read more

There aren’t a whole lot of female bicycle activists out there, so the moment I found out Sarai Snyder, founder of the website Girl Bike Love (girlbikelove.com) and the worldwide Cyclofemme ride (cyclofemme.com), was due to speak at the Utah Bike Summit on April 25, I knew I had to pick her brain.
