The Ghostface Killah show on November 8 at Urban Lounge was KILLER. Before Ghostface came on, their was a pre show by DJ Juggy, D-Blocks Vinny Idol and Sheek Louch who set the stage for the final act. Drinks were flowin’, the W’s were flying high, and the crowd was fiending. Great night at Urban. Photographer: Max Lowe … read more
Junction City Roller Dolls: 2010 Season Ender
This last Saturday night, was able to attend and shoot my first ever Roller Derby with the Junction City Roller Dolls hosting. The Hilltop Aces faced off against the Railway Banditas and there were definitely a few elbows thrown and hips checked. If your not familiar with Roller Derby, it is a scoring game involving fast skating, team work and fierce competitive streak.
The girls were in fine form and giving each-other a run for their money with the score board looking pretty even throughout the night, and the fans were in standing support. It was a great night in Layton. Photos: Max Lowe … read more
The Storming Premier
Everyone knows that snowboarders love to party, so why don’t more movie premiers have bars? Standard Films remedies this by putting together an event that’s one part premier, one part raging party. And what better time to throw a party than Halloween weekend? All other movie premiers will now seem inferior because I can’t enjoy the flick while in costume with a beer in hand. Brighton’s Heavy Metal Rail Jam
Snowboarders across the country have been jonesing for snow for months now and now it’s finally falling in the Wasatch. On Oct. 30, Brighton set up a couple jibs and invited the kiddies to come get their shred on. In the Halloween spirit, they threw in a little costume contest to boot. Disappointingly few people wore costumes but plenty of people showed up to slide some rails and get the preseason stoke going. Photos by Katie Panzer … read more

On October 29th Tempest Couture, which is owned by Melissa Christensen and Patrick Dacasto, hosted both friends and family at their newly opened space on the corner of 1300 S and 900 E. Epic Boards Shop – Grand Opening – 10/30/10
On Saturday October 30th, Epic Boards Shop opened its new location at 1700 Park Ave. in Park City, Utah. Owner Dan Dapper explained that Epic moved to Park City because of two consecutive break ins at their old location in the Salt Lake Valley. While one would usually expect a bit of negativity after two such occurences, Dan and his wife Elle were more than happy to move to PC and get a fresh start on things.
With a crew of three employees and a team of three young riders, Epic is slowly but surely getting its name out to the skate and snow masses. Epic carries product from pretty much any skate and snow heavyweight that you can think of and they are also sure to treat their customers, new and old, with a smile.
It’s not everyday that a shop can jump locations and continue their success, but the combination of good product and better service at Epic Boards Shop is a great start. Stop in if you’re in Park City. They might have more than what you need.

High Road Cooler Earth Music Festival 2010
As our licence plates attest, Utah is the home of the Greatest Snow on Earth, But as world wide environmental change continues, that could be threatened. More importante than the loss of great skiing that comes with global warming is the persistant drought that could take hold of this area of the country. In response to these concerns and in conjunction with 350.org’s 10/10/10 global initiative to raise awareness to climate change, Former mayor Rocky Anderson, Park City Mountain Resorts, and many other local initiatives hosted the High Road Cooler Earth Music Festival. This year the festival featured “Big Bad Voodoo Daddy”, and three local bands, “Insatiable” “Muscle Hawk” and “Rumba Libre”
This Gallery features some the awesome people who came out to support positive climate change and 350.org while listening to some great music.

In Color & Cheers premier at U of U
It’s that time of year again with the leaves changing colors, the smell of fall, and of course everyones favorite snowboard premiers. On September 16th Transworld premiered their movie In Color along with Peoples premier of Cheers. The crowd seemed to get bigger and bigger outside, mostly because of the free pizza and Monster energy drinks. Burton and Celtek also set up shop outside, Burton even had a little Airchair and push up contest for the kids to keep the in shape and get hooked up with some of this years Burton bindings and accessories. Once the doors opened people poured in the auditorium leaving no seat open and only standing room for the stragglers. The first movie was Transworld’s In Color, which is one of there best movie’s to date after that there was a small intermission in which they gave out a DC snowboard and a few cases of Monster. After making a few people happy the new People film Cheers, kicked off and with Jeremy Jones, Seth Huot and J.P. Walker still getting epic parts, brings to mind the phrase ” you can’t teach an old dog new tricks” which was put to shame in there parts. So if you weren’t there, go pick up a copy of both these movies and enjoy.
