Satch's Put That In Your Pipe and Jib It!

With the weather resembling Katie Perry's smash hit Hot and Cold, it was an odd day which was perfect for Brighton's 2nd Put it in your Pipe and Jib it competition which was an odd competition it's self. Basically it looked like someone built a mini pipe and threw a bunch of boxes and rails on it leaving little room for error. With plenty of people smashing into each other and others going off one box and gettin bucked right into the next, it was a great day.

Dew Tour: Womens Slopestyle Finals

Only six women, each with only two runs to battle it out for their chance to claim a spot on the podium. In the end it was defending slopestyle champion Spencer O’Brien who came out on top after landing every trick in both of her runs. O’brien was able to land both regular and switch 540’s which was enough to give the other ladies a run for their money.
Jenny Jones rode with confidence and believed she had enough tricks in her bag to beat out O’brien, but even a 720 on one of the biggest jumps wasn’t enough to send her to the top.
Megan Ginter owned her runs, which landed her a spot on the podium.
Jamie Anderson was a crowd favorite and had the judges given her credit throughout her practice runs, she most likely would have come out on top, but even after landing numerous 720’s in practice, she couldn’t quite stay on her feet in the finals which secured her a spot in 4th.

Dew Tour: Mens Slopestyle Finals

Chas Guldemond takes 1st place with an insane amount of spins throughout his run. Aside from cab 270ing  onto one of the rails, he somehow managed to keep spinning his way onto the podium with a 1260 and a 1440.
2nd place went to Tyler Flanagan who had a near flawless run landing perfectly executed with amazing style. Park City local, Sage Kotsenburg kept the crowd alive with an impressive run that impressed the judges enough to secure him a spot on the podium.

Dew Tour: Womens Pipe Finals

Just before the sun went down over the backside of Snow Basin resort, the top six qualifiers from the Prelims battled it out to earn their spot on the winners podium.  Only one rider would  stand out above the rest, and with back to back 720’s in her first run,  it was none other than miss Elena Hight. 2nd place winner, Kaitlyn Farrington was able to spin a cab 900 but judges didn’t feel the rest of her run was up to par to bump her up into 1st.  Quiet and humble Queralt Castellet from Spain was excited to be amongst the other two winners and stood proud on the 3rd place podium. She killed it more than the Spanish conquerors that came before her.

Dew Tour: Mens Pipe Finals

The over- dramatic lighting set the stage for an over-dramatic night as 12 riders competed amongst each other and their selves for the chance to take home the Dew Trophy. Close to 14,000 fans were all hopped up on caffeine, Matador Beef Jerky and Totinos Pizza Roles as they watched the top riders in the contest industry put on an amazing show.

Standing out above the rest and the final rider to drop was Danny Davis. Davis fell in his first run but was able to land a double cork 1080 which in turn landed him the 1st place spot at the end of the night.

Steve Fischer was all smiles before and after he stepped down off of the 2nd place podium. Jack Mitrani said “cheers” to his 3rd place victory and even pretended to drink from the cup as if it was a glass of champagne.
